Thanks Maisie for the great card

December 20, 2018 11:06 AM

Huge thanks to Mrs Wilkinson and Year 6 at Furzeham Primary School in Brixham for entering some fantastic designs for my Christmas card competition!

The winning design was Maisie Lee's, which we printed onto a card and sent out around the constituency.

The most fun part of it all was visiting year 6 and being quizzed by them on what's involved in being a politician, Brexit and environmental issues. They were very clued up!

When I asked whether they thought Brexit was a good idea not one hand in the class went up. When asked who wanted the UK to stay in the European Union, every single hand shot firmly up in the air.

The worst bit about Brexit, for me, is the chances we are denying our children. Why any government would want to take away their freedom to live, work and love all over Europe baffles me. It's about so much more than just trade deals.

Thanks Furzeham Primary!
